SIXTH GRADE

Sixth Grade

As students enter their final year of elementary education, they spend the year preparing for a transition to middle school with increased individual classroom responsibility and more rigorous academic standards. Throughout the year, students participate in several grade projects that include:

    The Market Place

Students make goods and sell them for pretend money to the rest of the school.

    Potato Harvest

Students harvest the potatoes that were planted at the end of fifth grade and grew over the summer. The potatoes are donated to Beans Café as a community service project.

    Sixth Grade Retreat

As the school year winds down, the class takes a trip to Birchwood Camp for an overnight visit and student retreat.
