At SEAS, the tuition paid by parents is only 70% of the actual financial cost to educate each student. The difference is realized through multiple activities held throughout each school year.
To offset the cost of tuition, fundraising is an important part of the SEAS experience. Families can support these efforts through direct monetary support, item donations, dedicating share hours to fundraising activities, and more.
Below is a sampling of some opportunities that are available to support and participate each school year.
The Annual Fund
Fundraising for SEAS is like a three-legged stool where each leg is critical for the stool to remain upright and stable. The annual fund is an important leg for the school’s financial health.
Donations to the Annual Fund are fully tax-deductible and help keep tuition as low as possible.
Whether your donation is $5 or $1,500, any amount is welcome. Each year SEAS sets the goal of at least 75% of all families donating to the Annual Fund.”
Contributing to the fund is fast and easy! Donations can be made in any of the following ways:
- In-person at the school’s front desk during school hours or by sending a donation in with your student.
- Mail—Send checks to SEAS at 2901 Huffman Road, Anchorage, Alaska 99516
- Credit Card via the online giving portal
Fundraising Activities for Share Hours
To ensure the success of the fundraising activities, each family must complete at least 25% (10 hours of the required 40 hours or 5 of the required 20) in a fund-raising activity.
The PVO determines the fund-raising activities for the year during its monthly meetings. Parent participation in the monthly meetings is crucial to the success of the school’s fundraising activities. Volunteers for the various activities are requested throughout the year. Many opportunities that require different skills and different levels of commitment are available. The school’s weekly Principal Newsletter will provide you with a list of upcoming share hour opportunities.
Annual School Auction
The auction is the largest fund raising activity held each year. It provides substantial support for the school and requires many hours of volunteer effort to be successful. Many opportunities are available for this activity.

Various Auction Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators as determined by the Auction Chair. See the PVO bulletin board &
stands in the school foyer for yearly oppurtunities. These positions earn share hours on an hour-by-hour basis.
Many opportunities are available for work to be performed at home, at school, the day and/or evening of the Auction.
Hours can be earned working on the classroom auction project.
Raffle tickets are sold each year and each family is expected to participate by selling a book of tickets. Fundraising share hours are earned by families selling tickets at public locations or other parishes. Families are encouraged to sell tickets to their friends and other family members to help support the school.
This event is operated in accordance with Alaska Gaming Rules.
The Halloween Carnival is held each year as a fun, safe, and warm family event for our students and the Anchorage community. This event has many volunteer opportunities for set-up, carnival experiences (games, booths, and food) and
clean-up. Share hours are earned on an hour-by-hour basis. The whole family can dress-up, eat dinner at the Goblin Café, play games, and take home a cake from the Cake Walk or Cake Auction.
Please note that due to covid, the Halloween Carnival is canceled for 2021. SEAS will host a Trunk or Treat event on October 29, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The Jog-A-Thon is held annually each Spring and is a major fundraiser for SEAS! Volunteers are needed to help organize and manager the big day, deliver daily prizes for pledges, procure prizes from local businesses for the students, collect funds from students keep an accounting log.
